It is well known that from time to time art galleries and auctioneers sell some paintings that are forgeries. It even happens once in a while that a museum acquires by mistake a forgery.
What is not so well known is that it occurs just as often, that an authentic painting is rejected.
It is the same error as not recognizing a forgery, but in reverse.
